Ever since the beginning of October I have been hoping
for snow, but the snow unfortunately wouldn't come, we have waited and waited
but the snow is finally here. Well parts of the country at least and I must add
that this year I am the lucky one! Hello Winter Wonderland!
Since yesterday the North of The Netherlands is covered in snow, not
exactly the thickest snow I have ever seen, but this is a start (I hope).
Yesterday morning I was still in the middle of The Netherlands and looking out
the window there did not have quite the snowy feel that I needed and especially
expected, it was green not a single snowflake in sight! Around noun I went on
my way up North for another week in the lovely Groningen and yes, the further
we went North the more white we encountered much to my liking!
Do you know that feeling when you are gazing out the
window in order to soak in as much of the lovely sight in front of you? you go
into a daze and dream away of faraway lands and amazing journeys. Well I know I
do, I couldn't wait to get outside when we would arrive and to my great delight
it was snowing in Groningen at time of arrival! And I can tell you I felt like
a little child in a candy shop. A familiar feeling for someone who likes snow
and winter as much as I do.
Due to darkness and the need to spend time in bed with
a good book I did not go on a walk yesterday however today I took a long walk
to explore and enjoy the outdoors. On the one hand an amazing idea, on the
other the worst idea you had Esmay. I can hear you questioning why, well as
much as I love snow I do not like iced snow that makes me turn into Bambi. My
coordination is not the best in the world and I must add it was quite a handful
to stay on my feet!
I got home safe and sound and I have taken a few
beautiful shots of the beautiful world around me, I saw children playing, bird
flying and even a grumpy face here and there. Hopefully tomorrow, or soon at least,
the ice will be gone and the busses will be driving again. And today the fifth
of January I was happy to have made your acquaintance winter!
Yours Truly x.
